Rams Rookie Bradford Scoring At Ticket Window
The new face of the franchise for the St. Louis Rams is already making a difference at the ticket window. Rams officials say Sunday's opener against the Arizona Cardinals is sold out, and that has everything to do with rookie Quarterback Sam Bradford.
"We've been very lucky,"
said Mike O'Keefe, the Rams Vice President of Sales. "The last few weeks have been tremendous for us. There's been a lot of excitement. But in terms of ticket interest, we've had several thousand tickets move this week alone, and we've also had a lot of other games sell."
Due to the rush, O'Keefe says the front office has added some new offers for the remaining tickets for the first two home games. The offer is called the Back to Football Bundle.
"It allows fans a great chance to come down and enjoy a ticket against the Arizona Cardinalsand then against the Washington Redskins on the 26th, and it includes food and beverage."
The Rams' brass is fully aware of the reason for the buzz in the ticket office and are fully prepared to give credit where it's due.
"Obviously we've had a tremendous boost from Sam, there's no question,"
O'Keefe admits. "It's really created a lot of excitement for us, and I think it's given our fans renewed hope. I think that's a big part of why we've seen a spike at the box office."
The excitement from the fans has certainly been contagious throughout the entire Rams organization.
Running Back Steven Jackson has felt it, "The community and you guys, the media, have been really excited about what we have going on here. I think each and every year there's always been optimism."
O'Keefe adds, "We really feel a tremendous sense of excitement from the community and that carries over to the coaches and then to the players, and it gets everyone excited."
One of the things that can potentially kill that momentum at home is blackouts (when the Rams don't sell enough tickets for the NFL to allow them to televise the home game live).
"We do want to avoid blackouts at all cost, "
